I’m leaving here a better person
For knowing you this way
There is so much yet that I don’t understand
But I’m leaving here a better person.
Rev. Sue Breisch – adapted from Leaving Here A Better Man by Clint Black
I just signed off Zoom from my last official Sunday worship service after six years of serving Lakeview United Church! I have to be honest, there were tears. While I am excited about the new journey ahead I have loved every moment of my time at Lakeview. I have grown as a person and as your leader. You welcomed me as a newly ordained minister, loved me, challenged me, walked with me, and helped me become the leader God would have me be. Thank you to each and every one of you. hank you for the opportunity to be your minister. Thank you for the opportunities to walk with you through your celebrations, your difficulties, and your life transitions, as we learned how to be a church in new and wonderful ways.
I will be in the office this coming week, August 11 - 13 in the mornings, if you feel that you want to come by for whatever reason!
God bless each and every single one of you in the days, weeks, and months ahead. You have a strong and visionary leadership team seeking God’s will for Lakeview and working on your behalf in every aspect. They have been a joy to work with. I leave you in God’s hands and under the care of those amazing leaders! I know that the next minister called will be, once again, exactly the right person to serve you. Trust the journey, celebrate who you are, and know that God loves you, God is with you, and you are never alone!
Through the prophet Jeremiah, God spoke to a people in exile: I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. —Jeremiah 29:11. We are all in good hands! God bless you!
Blessings,
Sue
