Lakeview would like to introduce our newest partners at the Lakeview Community Hub - Amber Bayda (Registered Social Worker - MSW) and Joanne Frederick (Registered Psychologist).

Hello,

My name is Amber, I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW) and Saskatchewan's first and only Certified Synergetic Play Therapist TM

For the past several years, I've been working with children and families in our community and I'm continually inspired by their resilience when they have a safe, encouraging, and personalized space to thrive in. As a Mom of two, I am passionate about providing caregivers, teachers, and support staff with the tools needed to support the children and youth in their lives. My goal is to fill a gap in our community, and provide mental health services and supports to children as young as 3 years old. I bring a unique modality to Saskatchewan that is innovative, highly effective and powerful. My approach is centered around Play Therapy, Somatic Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. My space is safe and affirming for all genders, bodies, brains, identities, sexualities and cultures.

I provide individualized counselling services to children/youth aged 3-15 years old, caregiver consultation and public education on topics such as Trauma Sensitive Spaces, Understanding the Brain, and Understanding the Autonomic Nervous System.

I am currently accepting new clients and am happy to be a part of Lakeview Community HUB.

I can be reached at

Joanne Frederick is a Registered Psychologist in private practice in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is also the Founder of the Prairie Centre for Mindfulness and, more recently, The Feminary through which she hosts retreats for women in Mexico and other locations.

A long-time resident of Regina, Joanne began her career working with children and adolescents at a non-profit agency called Ranch Ehrlo. After seventeen years of service there, she embarked on a new adventure and started a private practice. She now works exclusively with adults and now has her cozy office on the second floor of the church!

Areas of focus include supporting people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and life transitions. In addition to individual counselling, she also offers in-person and online group sessions. Her favourite group sessions are based on the internationally-acclaimed eight week course, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, which she trained to teach through the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Joanne is both delighted and grateful to be part of the Community Hub at Lakeview United Church and invites you to contact her with any questions you may have about her services and offerings. In particular, if you’re interested in learning more about mindfulness and stress reduction, she’s offering a five week course starting September 20th.

The best way for folks to contact me is by email: joanne.frederick@sasktel.net OR they can visit my website... http://joannefrederick.ca
